Step 1
Research
Our team monitors sales trends, market reports, and visits both local and international trade shows to keep their finger on the pulse.
We work closely with the whole RJ Living team including sales, marketing and warehouse dispatch.
Fuelling the whole process is a deep consideration of our customers’ needs. We carefully monitor customer suggestions, reviews and pain points to ensure our range is truly reflective of the Australian lifestyle.
Our research concludes with a broad idea of our upcoming pieces, with clear guidelines on material, function and aesthetic for us to build upon.
Step 2
Design
Following research, we narrow down and select the most high impact ideas to build upon.
Our initial concepts are taken through multiple iterations, employing sketching, prototyping and testing techniques, ensuring a focussed product that meets the initial criteria.
We then translate our concepts into 3D models in house, paying close attention to ergonomics and functionality, taking into consideration traditional and state of the art manufacturing processes that we’ve closely refined with our production partners.
Step 3
Production
We work directly with our makers, allowing us to follow a product’s journey from sourcing to packing, keeping high standards across the whole process.
In collaboration with our makers, we comprehensively sample and test our designs, tweaking as required to produce the best possible product.
Our designs then move through to production, where we use ethically and sustainably sourced materials to bring them to life, and quality control with rigorous tests to ensure all pieces exceed our standards.
Step 4
Arrival
New pieces may have arrived, but our work is never done!
Our content team produce stunning styled photography and video to bring our new designs to life.
Meanwhile, our design team continually assess new shipments, ensuring high standards throughout a product's lifespan, and working with our makers to continually improve upon our existing pieces over time.
